Our Complete Takeoff Process

Fast & Reliable Earthwork Takeoffs – Powered by AGTEK

How It Works

Full Sitework Takeoff - AGTEK - project plans 1

Step 1: Getting Started — Send Us Your Plans

Start by sending us your project drawings.
Simply upload your PDF plans and CAD (DWG) files — or share them through any cloud link. If you have geotechnical report, any specific notes for inclusion and exclusion, include those too.

The more information we receive, the more accurately we can capture your project scope and produce a detailed, field-ready takeoff.

Step 2: We Analyze & Prepare Your Takeoff

Once we have your plans, our certified estimators review every detail — contours, grading limits, utilities, paving, and structures — to ensure full scope coverage.
Using AGTEK (industry-leading earthwork takeoff software), Bluebeam Revu and Planswift, we calculate cut and fill volumes, topsoil handling, and material quantities with precision.

This combination of technology and experience ensures accurate and transparent results you can rely on for bidding and project management.

Step 3: Detailed Reports & Other Deliverables

  • All Required Detailed Reports:

Cut/Fill Volume Report, Depth Bracket Summary, Trench Volume Report, Building Excavation Footer Report, Structure Measures Summary, Material Summary Report, Structure Measures Report, Depth Bracket Report and Import/Export Summary.

  • 3D Dirt work Model  and Map View:

Complete 3D Model and map view to support accurate earthwork takeoff, validation and clear communication of grading scope. This deliverable converts the project’s civil plans and survey data into a true 3D representation of the site, allowing stakeholders to visually understand grading intent and verify quantities with confidence.

  • Marked-up Drawings:

Annotated drawings highlighting earthwork, civil work, and full sitework areas. These include cut/fill zones, grading, utility placements, and other key site elements, providing a clear visual reference to support the takeoff reports.

  • Underground Utility 3D Model:

A full utility 3d model developed in AGTEK Grade Work 4D representing underground services in true 3D space (horizontal alignment and vertical profile). The model is built from plan/CAD linework and available utility elevations (invert/centerline/rim).

  • Utility Conflict Identification:

A dedicated Utility Conflict Identification workflow is included to detect and document interferences (clashes/conflicts) between utilities, trenches, structures, and/or controlling surfaces.

  • 3D Drive Through Video:

A dynamic 3D visualization of the project site created in AGTEK, showing terrain, grading, cut/fill volumes, and site features. This video provides an interactive, realistic perspective of the earthwork and full sitework.

  • AGTEK Project File:

For advanced verification and adjustments in AGTEK.

  • Google Earth Overlays:

optional field review and general visualization.

Color Coded Marked Plans

Our color-coded marked-up plans are delivered in PDF format for easy sharing and review. Generated with AGTEK, these plans highlight cut, fill, grading zones, and all other sitework material quantities with clear color coding directly on the site drawings. This allows clients and contractors to quickly review earthwork, material takeoffs, and project details, improving communication and ensuring accurate execution on-site.

3D Earthwork Model (Subgrade Vs Stripped) - AGTEK

The 3D model of the site (Subgrade vs Stripped) generated using AGTEK provides a clear, color-coded visualization of earthwork. It highlights precise subgrade and stripped areas, helping contractors understand grading adjustments, balance cut and fill, and efficiently plan material movement across the site.

Underground Utility and Trenches 3D Model

All underground utilities (such as water, sanitary sewer, storm drainage, gas, electrical, duct bank, and telecom, as applicable) are modeled as 3D alignments with horizontal geometry and vertical profile based on available plan and elevation data (invert, centerline, rim, or design profiles).

Underground Utility Conflict Identification

We carefully review your project plans and existing utility records to find potential clashes before you start digging.

We carefully analyze the plans to identify and document any locations where underground lines cross, intersect, or are too close to one another.

What you get:

A clear report that identifies and labels each potential conflict. Easy-to-read maps marking the exact locations of conflicts.

3D Drive-Through (Quick Video) - AGTEK

3D drive-through video created with AGTEK software offers an interactive visualization of the site’s existing and proposed grades. This realistic simulation allows you to virtually “drive” through the project, viewing elevation changes, slopes, and grading details from a ground-level perspective. It’s an excellent tool for presentations, project reviews, and identifying potential design or constructability issues before construction begins.

Google Earth Overlays

Our Google Earth KMZ/KML file and Video provide an easy way to visualize your earthwork data in Google Earth. These files include accurate grading, cut/fill areas, and project boundaries, allowing clients and contractors to view the site in 3D from any location.
